Maxell's LTO Ultrium 1 tape takes advantage of exclusive technology to pack high 100GB capacity in a very compact cartridge. This tape not only holds data - it holds more of the promise of next-generation storage media. Maxell pre-records servo signals for more accurate, reliable tracing of the narrow data tracks that store high-density data. LTO Ultrium 1 tape features metal particles with a Ceramic Armor mere nanometers thick, which greatly enhances anti-oxidation characteristics for long-term storage and durability for extra reinforcement as the tape runs over magneto-resistive heads. Two types of binders are uniquely cross-linked to bond magnetic particles securely using integrated anchor segments. This contributes to the tape's exceptional durability and stability. Maxell applies a sub-micron-thick magnetic coating to LTO Ultrium 1 tape, and uses a special calendaring technology to enhance tape surface smoothness for superior signal output and stability characteristics.
